Friday Night Services are held about once a month as leaders are available.

Next service:  Friday, June 10, at 7 p.m., at Bloomsburg Town Park, Pavilion 4, at the east side of Market Street and Fort McClure Blvd.

Service to be led by Jessica Slotkin and Susan Schwartz

A vegetarian potluck will follow.

Beth Israel Congregation’s Clever Plan for a COVID-safe Shabbat service.

  1. We’ll meet outdoors, at Town Park – can’t beat the ventilation there!
  2. We’ll wear masks during the service. If you don’t have one, tell Susan a few days in advance – she’ll get you one.
  3. We’ll keep 6 feet away from people outside our households.
  4. We’ll use disposable dishes and silverware.
  5. We’ll have one or two people serving everyone.
  6. We’ll have hand sanitizer.

Bring along extra lawn chairs if you have them – the picnic benches might not be enough for us to keep our distance. Park along Fort McClure Blvd., which parallels the river. And if you can, bring your favorite vegetarian dish to share!

If you don’t feel comfortable sharing food, you can also bring your own meal or skip the eating – you’ll still be welcome!
