Date: Dec. 5, 2021
Time: 3 p.m.
Place: Congregation Beth Israel 144 E. Fourth St.
We're celebrating the victory of the Maccabees, the miracle of the oil and our people's survival with music, stories, gifts, and, of course, food.
Jessica Slotkin will lead the program. Ken Druckenmiller is making homemade latkes on the spot. We'll have live music from the Bloomsburg Early Music Ensemble. There will be gift packs for every kid, and we'll have Hanukkah gelt for everyone!
Afterwards, we'll sit down for a nice vegetarian potluck.
We'll move it online if the CDC or Pennsylvania Department of Health advises against such gatherings, and bring your mask even if we can get together in person. And if you don't feel well, stay home and call Susan Schwartz at the number below - she'll deliver a Hanukkah care package to your door.
Meanwhile, check out our Facebook page for a new children's Hanukkah story, read by Eileen Anderson, each of the eight nights. We'll brighten these darkest days of December!
